Being Up Front
It's no secret that I have a certain disdain for the grotesque McMansion front entries that have become so popular out here in California. Most people (myself included) enter their homes through the back door. Suffice it to say, most front entries attempts at curb appeal wind up as exercises in impressing friends and neighbors.
Well, it turns out there are some valid reasons for building good curb appeal:

- It helps with resale value
- A front landscape overhaul can inspire your neighbors to do the same
- It does feel good when people tell you how awesome your house looks (I admit it)

Personally I like it. A lot. I can't wait to see how it goes. Our plan is to spend the winter inside and focus on exterior in spring. I will have to suffer through the beige paint all over the entire house until the birds start singing again.
