It's no secret that I have a certain disdain for the grotesque McMansion front entries that have become so popular out here in California. Most people (myself included) enter their homes through the back door. Suffice it to say, most front entries attempts at curb appeal wind up as exercises in impressing friends and neighbors.
Well, it turns out there are some valid reasons for building good curb appeal:
Some of you will remember that a few months ago I played around in Google SkethUp with some ideas. I was never 100% happy (not even 50%, really) with it. Well, I went back again and I'm MUCH happier. Let me know what you think of the new design:
- It helps with resale value
- A front landscape overhaul can inspire your neighbors to do the same
- It does feel good when people tell you how awesome your house looks (I admit it)
