Long time, no update
I have been busy but haven't stopped working on little projects. Here are just a few of the things I've been working on...

Dining Room Remodel:

So I decided to do something I've been thinking about for a while. Some of you may remember a fair amount of my home had ceilings covered in the very unoriginal popcorn. I had removed it from the living room but it remained in the dining room and one hallway. When I tell people I scraped the ceiling and repainted my dining room, they think it's pretty minimal. But it's actually quite involved. Here are the steps:
- Lay out plastic (you will still make a huge mess)
- Spray water onto the ceiling (and make a huge mess)
- Scrape off "popcorn" (make an even bigger mess)
- Scrape out edges where drywall meets wood beams
- Use spackling to fix any holes / gross imperfections in the ceiling
- Sand edges where drywall meets wood beams
- Sponge off edges to caulk will adhere
- Use elastomeric caulk to fill and reform edges
- Sand spackling and elastomeric caulk after they have dried
- Sand beams and rough up any areas adjoining the walls
- Sponge off everything to remove dust
- Prime ceiling
- Paint two coats of color to ceiling
- Sand drywall to remove imperfections from previous owners
- Spackle any voids
- Sand spackle
- Sponge down walls for better paint adhesion
- Paint main wall areas
- Cut-in the numerous inside corners where drywall meets beams
- Go back to 18 for coat #2
